Bray and Holmes Engineering & Fabrication has been operating in Huddersfield for forty years. We are a mechanical engineering and metal fabrication company — a team of five, with over one hundred years of combined hands-on experience between us.
Our customer base has been built almost entirely through word of mouth and the quality of the work. Many of the businesses we work with today have been customers for years.
In 2026, Bray & Holmes was acquired by Pennine Textiles & Blending, one of the UK’s leading fibre blending and textile recycling businesses, based at Spring Garden Mill, Milnsbridge – the same site from which Bray & Holmes operates.
The acquisition was not a change of direction. It was the formalisation of a working relationship that had existed for many years. Pennine Textiles & Recycling had been a Bray & Holmes customer long before they became the owners – relying on our engineers for maintenance, repairs and fabrication across their manufacturing operation. When the opportunity to acquire the business arose, the decision was a straightforward one. They already knew the work.
For our customers, the practical effect is continuity and added strength. The same team, the same capabilities, the same commitment to getting the job done – now with the backing of an established, growing group and new workshops at our shared base at Spring Garden Mill.
How we work
You tell us what you need. We come to you, assess the job, and give you a straight quote. We work around your schedule – including planned shutdown periods and, when the job demands it, out-of-hours.
We do not promise what we cannot deliver. We do not overcomplicate things that do not need to be complicated. And we do not disappear after the invoice is paid.
